You can make money in Herbalism not just on the herbs, but on the rare side gathers you can get as well. Alchemists need Herbalists to gather raw materials for potions, phials, cauldrons, and finishing reagents, and those who invest in Inscription need Herbs to create inks used to make nearly all of their items - runes, sigils, Dragonriding transmogs, profession specialization treatises, contracts, cards, scrolls, and more. Herbalism has always been one of the most useful professions in World of Warcraft, since so many professions rely on herbs, and those professions are heavily invested in creating consumables. There are no new talents in the Specialization tree that modify Lambent herb nodes. You will pick up 1x Zaralek Glowspore for each spore you run over. Overloading a Lambent herb summons a mushroom man that summons several small green glowing spores, scattered across the area. You will receive 1x Knowledge point in Herbalism and 15x Artisan's Mettle for the first time you pick each of the four types of Lambent herbs, and the first time you Overload a Lambent. The Propogated Spore can contain a large number of Zeralak Glowspores. However, if you are a double gatherer with Mining, this has a chance to produce a Propogated Spore when you mine a Metamorphic ore deposit (the new ore modifier in 10.1), which then consumes the buff. If you pick another Lambent herb, the buff duration is extended. You also get the buff Zaralek Glowbur, which lasts for 2 minutes and "covers you in radiant spores that are eager to propogate". Picking a Lambent node yields a small number of Zaralek Glowspores, a new crafting reagent in Patch 10.1. Hochenblume, Bubble Poppy, Saxifrage, and Writhebark and all be Lambent, and show a green glow. There is a new herbalism node modifier in Patch 10.1, which only appears within the new Zaralek Caverns: Lambent.
